Teoman Yakupoglu was born in Istanbul in 1967. He graduated from Bosphorus University, degree of Sociology. After that, he continued doing the master program in İstanbul University, Department of Woman Research. In his college years, he gave numerous concerts and made a lot of recordings till his band splited up. Teoman continued his carrier as solo. In 1996, he won "the best song" prize with his song "Ne ekmek ne de su" and "the best lyrics" prize with "Yollar". At the same year, his first album "Teoman" was released. Following these two very successful works, Teoman continued his music career with the release of records: "17", "Gönülçelen", "Teoman 2003", "En Güzel Hikayem" and "Renkli Rüyalar Oteli" respectively, and many remixes. His latest album, "insanlık halleri" was released in 2009. In addition to his works in music, Teoman worked also on the field of cinema, releasing his first movie 'Balans ve Manevra' in 2005. While directing and being the producer of the movie, he wrote the scenario and the soundtrack of 'Balans ve Manevra' as well. Within his career in cinema, he took various roles in movies such as "Mumya Firarda" (2002), "Banka" (2002), "Romantik" (2002), "Balans ve Manevra" (2005). Teoman also writes in different magazines and newspapers. Most of the lyrics and music in his albums are solely written by Teoman, accepted as one of the best songwriters in Turkey. The artist, received numerous awards on "Best singer", "Best songwriter" and "Best album" categories.
